Chanel Torres doubled and scored three runs for first-seeded Newark East Side in an 8-6 win over fifth-seeded Bard in the Newark Public Schools Tournament semifinal round in Newark.

Newark East Side (9-5) and Bard (7-3) each scored two runs in the first inning. Newark East Side put up three runs in the bottom of the third inning and three more in the sixth.
