The most preferred domestic travel destinations to explore nature and wildlife among Russians were the areas around Lake Baikal and the Altai Mountains. Nearly one fifth of respondents in 2019 named each of these locations. Baikal was also one of the most preferred tourist destinations for leisure and entertainment travel among Russians.
