In 2020, proved oil reserves in Latin America amounted to nearly 330 billion barrels. This value has remained relatively stable in the past decade, however has nearly tripled in comparison to the beginning of the century. Venezuela holds the largest oil reserves in the world, and accounts for more than 90 percent of the Latin American region's reserves.
