Tayside property expert Lindsay Darroch has been headhunted to lead up Scottish legal firm Gilson Gray’s Dundee office.

Mr Darroch was part of the senior management team at Blackadders for more than 20 years v.

Gilson Gray opened its city office in South Tay Street earlier this year.

The fast growing firm said the appointment followed its hiring strategy of cherry-picking the most skilled and accomplished people to join its teams.

Mr Darroch said: “I’ve been incredibly impressed with Gilson Gray and its work for quite some time. Its energy and focus have really resonated with me and aligns with what I want the legal profession in Dundee to achieve.

“I strongly believe that there is an excellent opportunity in Dundee for a full-service law firm with that added personal approach and client-focused ethos.

Glen Gilson, managing partner of Gilson Gray and chairman of the Gilson Gray Group

“Gilson Gray’s enthusiastic, award-winning approach will be a disruptor in the market. There is nothing else really like this in terms of age and profile at the moment.

“As partner and head of the Dundee office, I will be responsible for further developing our presence and offering in Dundee, while also supporting my new colleagues.”

Mr Darroch is the company secretary for Dundee Football Club. He is also a board member of Caledonia Housing Association, clerk and boxmaster to The Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee, and a trustee of DFC in the Community Trust.

Glen Gilson, chairman and managing partner at Gilson Gray, said: “Lindsay is widely regarded as one of the leading lawyers in the Dundee area. We are delighted to have attracted such quality.

“He is a great guy and a perfect fit for our team – it is also exciting to be able to continue our investment in Dundee. Lindsay will play a vital role in further establishing Gilson Gray as part of the Dundee community.

“As a firm and as a Scottish business, this is an important step in our journey and progression throughout Covid and beyond.”
