A ‘pioneering businesswoman’ from Eton has passed away aged 65.
Gill Eagle passed away at 12.30am on Tuesday, June 18 in her home with her sister, Chrissy Eagle, by her side.
She had been in a two-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer.
A long-time leader in direct selling, Gill dedicated more than 30 years of her life to the industry, successfully running three multi-million-pound businesses.
Her most notable achievement was with Tropic Skincare.
Gill was instrumental in shaping its business model, being one of four professionals who successfully pitched it to business mogul Lord Alan Sugar, 11 years ago.
Carlton Connell, managing director at Tropic, said: “Gill was a beloved and irreplaceable member of Tropic. Her impact on the business was immeasurable.
“She didn’t just touch lives, she changed them.
“In her own words, she was ‘a woman on a mission to prove anything is achievable in life if you commit to make it happen.’
“Gill was a personal inspiration of mine, and a dear friend.
“She has left an indelible mark on all our hearts, and we would not be the Tropic we are today without her.”
Beyond her work, Gill’s legacy extended to her philanthropy with Berkshire Women's Aid, where she made monetary and Tropic product donations to bring joy in times of need.
Her charitable efforts extended beyond Windsor, too. Gill worked closely with The Winnie Mabaso Foundation, raising awareness and funds for the South African charity and the orphaned and vulnerable children they support.
Gill’s occupation on her death certificate reads: “An empowering legend. That’s how she will be remembered.”
She is survived by her sister, Chrissy, and ‘the thousands of lives she touched.’
A small private funeral will be held on Thursday, July 4, with close family and friends.
Gill’s family have set up a fundraising page a should anyone in the community wish to pay their respects. It can be found at: gillianeagle.muchloved.com
Donations can be made to Target Ovarian Cancer and Thames Hospice, which provides palliative and end-of-life care to those in Berkshire & South Buckinghamshire.
Tropic will be arranging a larger celebration of Gill’s life on Saturday, July 27. For more details about the ceremony, email info@tropicskincare.com
