WCPS selects new Oakland Elementary principal

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Oakland Elementary will have a new principal beginning July 1.

Warren County Public Schools selected Shaun Stice as the new principal of the school on Wednesday.

Stice’s career in education has spanned almost two decades. Stice has been an employee of Edmonson County Schools since 2012. Stice has served as principal of Kyrock Elementary since 2017. he previously served as a math teacher in Edmonson County and Barren County.

During Stice’s tenure with Edmonson County Schools, Kyrock Elemetary ranked 12th out of 701 elementary schools in the state on the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA).

His previous success as the principal of Kyrock Elementary speaks volumes about his commitment to ensuring successful outcomes for all students. His competitive spirit, combined with the wisdom attained from leading a highly successful school, gives me great confidence in his ability to lead Oakland Elementary to new heights” said Rob Clayton, Superintendent of Warren County Public Schools.

Stice is excited to begin the new role.

“I am so excited about this new opportunity. I would like to thank Mr. Clayton and the SBDM council of Oakland Elementary for entrusting me with this great responsibility. I look forward to getting to know the staff of the school, the people of the community and especially the students. Parents are relying on us to provide a high quality education. By collaborating and working closely with the Oakland staff, I know that we can do that. I want to carry on the traditions of Oakland Elementary while integrating my professional experiences to make the school a place that students and staff are proud to be a part of. I also want parents and community members to have the same sense of pride knowing that their children are in good hands,” said principal Stice.

Stice will begin as Oakland Elementary’s principal on July 1.
