Disappointed by some bias, but overall impressed

This book introduces the reader to some fascinating ideas. D. Bruce Dickson's "Public Transcripts Expressed in Theatres of Cruelty," is an example. Also Lewis Mumford and Cesar Marchetti. I suggest digging into the source materials where you find an interest. I do object to a sentence like, "Sumerian worshippers had always humbled and abased themselves before the gods, as slaves grovel before their owners," which suggests a lack of empathy for enslaved people and all who suffered under the tyranny of "civilization," but I also think the author is moving to some new ground. I admire this work.
