POSSUM TROT, Ky.– Kentucky State Police is investigating a murder in Marshall County after finding a man dead in a Possum Trot home. On June 27, the US Forestry Service notified KSP of an abandoned vehicle located in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Troopers conducted a welfare check on 44-year-old Jesse Moore, of Benton, KY, who was known to operate the vehicle regularly.
Troopers responded to a residence in the Possum Trot area of Marshall County to attempt to make contact with Jesse Moore. When they arrived at the residence, they located a deceased male who appeared to have suffered from a gunshot wound.
An autopsy, conducted on Saturday, confirmed the identity of the deceased male to be Jesse Moore. Foul play is suspected in the death of Jesse Moore and the investigation remains ongoing by Post 1 detectives.
