CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Rotary Club of Casper is gearing up to host its annual Great Duck Derby and Riverfest event.

Thousands of rubber ducks will take to the North Platte River to compete for the top spot. The fastest duck and its owner will win a cash prize and eternal bragging rights.

After the big race, Riverfest will feature live music, local breweries, a number of family-friendly activities, and more.

Each entry into the duck derby is $20 dollars.

The derby is the Rotary Club of Casper’s largest fundraiser of the year. This year, the Rotary Club will use proceeds from the event to make Crossroads Adventure Park ADA accessible.

Not only is the derby a quack-tastic time, it’s also an opportunity for folks to make a local impact.

Lori Klatt, president of the Rotary Club of Casper, says, “That’s the greatest thing about the Duck Derby. It is so much fun, but every ticket that you purchase, 100 percent of it goes towards doing something good in the community.”

The Great Duck Derby and Riverfest will take place on Saturday, August 10 at Crossroads Park.
