Increased Fire Danger Concerns for Saturday

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - While the weekend does not look to be too bad, we could see some increased fire danger concerns across parts of Wyoming.

A Fire Weather Watch is in effect from Saturday Afternoon through Saturday Evening through portions of Central and South Central Wyoming, including Casper to Riverton and from Laramie to Rawlins. The combination of relative humidity down to 10%, along with wind gusts to 30 mph will result in critical fire weather conditions to develop.

While we deal with the fire weather potential, much of the area will see some sun and clouds. Some isolated showers and storms are possible, especially north of Casper. Some more rain and storm chances possible heading into Saturday Night closer to Cheyenne and the Nebraska Panhandle. High temperatures heading into Saturday will be into the 70s to the middle 80s.

With storm chances likely to increase heading into the late evening and early overnight hours of Saturday. Much of the Panhandle of Nebraska and far southeast Wyoming are in a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5). Storms that could become severe may contain gusty winds and some hail.
