Avant 1993 et la grande réorganisation du réseau ainsi que la différenciation en couleurs des lignes du 'L', la ligne brune était connue sous le nom de Ravenswood Line et la navette entre Kimball et Belmont était surnommée Ravenswood Shuttle.
