Grafton Street (Irish: Sráid Grafton) is one of the two principal shopping streets in Dublin city centre (the other being Henry Street). It runs from St Stephen's Green in the south (at the highest point of the street) to College Green in the north (the lowest point).

Die Straße wurde nach dem ersten Duke of Grafton (1663–1690) benannt, der Land in dieser Gegend besaß. Seit den 1980er-Jahren ist die Straße, bis auf einen kleinen Teil zwischen Nassau Street und College Green, eine Fußgängerzone. Doch auf diesem kleinen Teilstück finden sich zwei Dubliner Sehenswürdigkeiten: Das Haus des Dekans des Trinity Colleges aus dem 18. Jahrhundert und die Statue von Molly Malone aus dem späten 20. Jahrhundert, die heutzutage ein populärer Treffpunkt ist. In der Grafton Street finden sich immer einige Straßenkünstler oder Musiker, die die Menschenmassen unterhalten. Die Eröffnung der Straßenbahn Luas in Dublin Ende Juni 2004 führte bis Oktober zu 20 % mehr „Einkäufern“ in der Grafton Street, obwohl ein kurz danach eröffnetes großes Einkaufszentrum in Dundrum am anderen Ende der Straßenbahnlinie ebenfalls Käufermassen anlockt.Die Grafton Street hält mit einem jährlichen Mietpreis von 3.794 Euro pro Quadratmeter den 13. The street, on the Southside of the city, was developed from a laneway in the early 1700s, and its line was shaped by the now-culverted River Steyne. Initially, a fashionable residential street with some commercial activity, the character of Grafton Street changed after it was connected to Carlisle Bridge and came to form part of a cross-city route. It suffered from dilapidation and prostitution through the 19th century, with several run-down buildings. During the 20th century, it became known for the coffee house Bewley's, mid- and up-market shopping, and as a popular spot for buskers. It has been assessed as one of the most expensive main retail streets in the world on which to rent. (en)
