Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Allkpop and citations

[edit]

Hi Meloras, thanks for adding the Yahoo citation to the Burning Sun scandal. I am more than aware that Allkpop is not an acceptable reference; it was being used within the information provided by the Global Times newspaper and not as a reference. I have removed the Star 2 citation you added (is that also a blog) and moved the Yahoo citation to the end, since the information provided in the sentences and quote was from the Global Times newspaper. Allkpop is a well-known blog, and the newspaper referring to them was like referring to Sina Weibo....it is a place where many K-pop fans get their information. But, since you took it out of the sentence, that's fine, let's just leave it that way. Lots of work left to do! Thanks!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 08:17, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bonnielou2013, thanks for the explanation. Star2 is a Malaysian entertainment news portal. I can't confirm whether it's a reliable source or not for Wikipedia, but it's not included as unreliable source in WP:KO/RS#UR yet. As for Allkpop, since it's already considered unreliable, I think it's better not to mention it. Anyway, thank you for your hard work! Meloras (talk) 08:36, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 180.244.233.98 which is an official telecommunication/internet company. Meloras (talk) 01:27, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

As of several days ago, this IP was an open proxy due to being infected with a botnet, probably Avalanche. I will lift the block on the IP address, however I would advise you to run a virus scan and update any devices that could have been causing this detection, as the IP address will only be blocked again if the issue persists. Will do as per advise. Thanks.Meloras (talk) 04:06, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Meloras,

Thank you for creating Alone (2020 horror film).

@Rosguill: Hello, Rosguill. Thank you for the information. Could you please tell me the specific issues regarding the article? Meloras (talk) 05:28, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Meloras, the issue is that the sources cited in the article by my judgement do not add up to meeting the general notability guideline. Most of the sources are quasi-promotional routine coverage to build up hype for the upcoming film; our articles should be based on less routine, more critical journalism. For a new film, the most common type of reliable source will be reviews published in established professional publications. For older films, while reviews are still good sources, you can also find other types of retrospectives and analyses, either in entertainment or cultural magazines or in academic journals. signed, Rosguill talk 06:05, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I understood. There are not much coverage as of now since it's an upcoming film, but I will add the sources that meet the guidelines when I find them. Thank you for the feedback. Meloras (talk) 06:20, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2020

[edit]

Information icon Hi Meloras! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Yoo Ah-in that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Adding any new information to articles is not a minor edit. Thanks, Alex (talk) 08:55, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll make a note of that. Meloras (talk) 10:21, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
