SpaceX's 400-foot rocket is the most powerful booster ever developed, and the system is expected to play an important role in NASA’s efforts to return astronauts to the moon.
This is the first crewed flight of the company's Starliner capsule, which was developed in partnership with NASA to ferry astronauts to and from the International Space Station.
NASA said Tuesday that attempts to fix a malfunctioning gyroscope have failed, so Hubble will operate with just one gyroscope going forward, which will limit its scientific capability.
On Wednesday, Boeing will try again to launch two NASA astronauts on its Starliner space capsule. A day later, SpaceX will conduct another test flight of its Starship megarocket.
NASA astronauts Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita Williams are expected to lift off at 12:25 p.m. ET Saturday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
