This week marks one month since we introduced our new brand to the world, but several months before the official launch, we gave our global employees a sneak preview at a live, global telecast in Toronto hosted by Sonny Kalsi and Amy Price. The secret event, aptly called "The Next Episode", was a celebration of #TeamBGO and a first glimpse of the path ahead for all of us.  The atmosphere was electric as we proudly revealed the culmination of months of behind the scenes work to kick off this new era for our firm. Huge congratulations to all participants in the #105VictoriaStreet Fundraiser - Cycle to Brighton, led by #TeamBGO's Alexander Morris. Teams of cyclists covered an astounding 11,970 km and raised £40,000! Step into our beloved Artist Alley and immerse yourself in the visionary world of Los Angeles-based BIPOC contemporary artist Leah Smithson, our 2024 Featured Artist! Smithson’s yearlong exhibition transforms our Artist Alley into an immersive temporal portal with paintings and animated AR sculptures that blur the lines between thought and reality. Paying homage to visionary female inventors like Ada Lovelace and Rosalind Franklin, the exhibition hopes to inspire the next generation of women to follow in their limitless footsteps. Smithson explains, “I explore the human condition using portraits that mirror an emotional state or frame of mind, rather than the likeness of a person. This work examines complex and emotional subjects objectively, leveraging both traditional—painting, ceramic sculpture—and new media—3D animation, XR, and architectural projection installation.” A special thanks to Forbes & Emma Kershaw for highlighting Leah’s 2024 exhibition, ‘Limitless,’ now available for viewing in our Artist Alley! The downtown gem for University of Alberta, Enterprise Square, will compete in the historical category while the stellar suburban building, Commerce South Office Park - Building B (8657 51 Ave) will compete in the Under 100,000 Square Feet. Making it all the way to the International TOBY awards is already a major accomplishment. Buildings have to win at both the local and national levels.
