Collaboration is essential to tackling global food safety challenges and that is why Mars is extending our global partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Here at the Mars Global Food Safety Center we believe everyone has the right to safe food. Partnerships propel our vision of #SafeFoodForAll and holistic approach built on robust science and technology, knowledge sharing and building supply chain capabilities in food safety. One of our key focus areas is mycotoxin risk management, which relies on modelling & predictive capabilities to target supply chain development efforts. I’m thrilled that through our expanded partnership with FAO, we will share our technical knowledge and scientific expertise in mycotoxin management, helping to ensure safe food for all. We rely on rigorous scientific evidence to set and reach our ambitious sustainability targets. Today, I’m proud to share the launch of the Mars Net Zero Roadmap, which will cut emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. Our commitment goes well beyond our factory doors. It begins in the fields, where we’re championing climate-smart agriculture. And it ends in our consumers’ homes, where they can feel good knowing every bite of our rice isn't just about flavor; it's about making a promise to do good while making our products taste great.   In the recent words of the UN-backed IPCC, it's "now or never" to address climate change. Mars is committed — we're investing over $1 billion in the next three years to ensure we remain on this crucial path. This has been long in the making. Some may say too long, but I am proud of the Net Zero Roadmap Mars published today - with a new and more aggressive target to reduce GHG emissions by 50% in 2030. I know lots of targets are being thrown around these days, and frankly not a lot of transparency. And it really shouldn't be about promises but about progress; the race is for real reductions not ambitions. Since our 2015 baseline, Mars has reduced GHG emissions by 8%. Only 8%?, you may say. But to be clear, we are talking about 8% absolute reductions across our entire value chain, after peaking emissions in 2018, and in a period where our business has grown 60%. In other words, we have decoupled growth from emissions, and we are now accelerating that journey with an additional investment of $1bn over the next three years. The global economy has seen better days, and this might be a challenge for climate action. But we have to listen to the science and listen to the experts' call for immediate action. And if that's not enough, then listen to this striking number from an IPSOS survey Mars commissioned among 14.000 adults in the world’s seven biggest economies: 69% of consumers want businesses’ focus on climate change to be at the level of or even higher than its focus on basic economic factors. We will continue to listen, and we will continue to learn, because nobody's perfect and because we need to help each other deliver real, absolute progress across our value chains. I look forward to continuing this conversation with good friends and experts at Climate Week in New York City next week.

Climate change poses one of the most significant challenges of our era, with urgent calls from experts and the public alike for businesses to take decisive action.
