English: De Menou, a tapestry merchant of Aubusson, became director of the the Beauvais tapestry manufacture in 1780 being granted a concession for twenty years. He extended the manufacture to carpets, and in 1790 employed about 120 workmen. In the year 1793 De Menou resigned, the Beauvais Manufactory was nationalized and stayed closed until 1795, when Camousse was appointed as a new director.
