Eastwoodhill Arboretum

English: Eastwoodhill Arboretum is the national arboretum of New Zealand. It was founded in 1910 by William Douglas Cook. It is situated 35 km. northwest of Gisborne on the East Coast of the North Island.
The collection contains some 3000 trees , shrubs and climbers (of which 170 species are on the UCN world endangered species list) and is said to be the largest collection of northern hemisphere trees in the southern hemisphere.
Nederlands: Eastwoodhill Arboretum is het nationale arboretum van Nieuw-Zeeland. Het is gesticht in 1910 door William Douglas Cook. Het ligt 35 km. noordwestelijk van Gisborne, aan de East Coast van het Noordereiland. De collectie omvat ca. 3000 bomen, struiken en klimplanten. Daarvan staan er 170 op de de Rode Lijst van de IUCN. Eastwoodhill herbergt de grootste collectie bomen van het noordelijk halfrond op het zuidelijk halfrond.
