A violent storm drives the Panamanian cargo ship Noordwester "Faustus" on 6th November 1952 to the ground near town Hook of Holland , Netherlands. The rescue boat "Jan Lels" takes the crew on board. The ship had been pushed through the canal Nieuwe Waterweg and began to sink. The precise location of the ship wreak was unknown for a while and the traffic through Nieuwe Waterweg was obstructed. Later, a cameraman from Polygon, Peter Card, went with the rescue team so the rescue of the crew of the "Faustus" was filmed at close range.
