I am The Spider Chick, on Wiki and everywhere else.

I am a spider ecologist and spider educator and I’ve been studying spiders for 20 years. Since most of what people “know” about spiders is misinformation and myth, my mission is to correct this by educating people about these fascinating creatures via online consulting, public appearances and classroom presentations with my live spider collection.

It is important to me that information offered on Wiki pages is accurate and informative. Many spider photos are posted and labelled by non-experts, and often they are misidentified. Since Wikimedia Commons is used as a resource for a million other projects across the web, these misidentified photos end up miseducating people. When I find misidentified photos I do what I can to correct the problem and/or inform others who have used the photo in the wrong context.
