Hi,

I have decided to change the article to stub. Must I remove the AFC section at the top of the article or can I just add the stub section at the end of the article and resubmit for evaluation?

The old "declined" message should remain as a historical record until the draft is accepted. It's already submitted for another review, but still entire sections are not supported by any sources, and what sources the article cites don't strike me as reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Hi, after making amendments to an article for creation, following a reviewer's comments, how do I re-submit my article for re-review? Thanks very much. Potato67 (talk) 13:40, 16 May 2013 (UTC)Potato67[reply]

It already is resubmitted for another review. However, it is still heavily based on primary sources with many other sources providing but passing mentions - the same problems because of which it was declined before. Huon (talk) 18:42, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Has my article been published?

edit

I received an e-mail today regarding the article I created, Peter Hersh, M.D. It says the page has been created, but when I search wikipedia I don't see the page. Is my article not approved yet?

Hi there - I have made suggested changes (cited new sources, changed tone in some parts and changed some of the language) from two editors and beefed up the entry for G Adventures based on the feedback of "questionable notoriety" from one of the editors (not sure how that is possible when other lesser smaller companies have wikipedia entries). Please let me know if there is anything else stylistically that can be done to get this published. Thank you Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bruce Poon Tip

I'd suggest sorting the content (except the lead section) in a rough chronological order so that the early life and education are covered before his business ventures are. Stylistically, we should refer to Poon Tip by his surname, not his given name. More importantly, many of the sources are primary sources; for example, almost all awards cite the organization bestowing the award, not a third-party source. Similarly, the sources for his upcoming book are his publishers - not independent sources. Huon (talk) 20:15, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Huon (talk) - I appreciate your guidance and feedback. I've made the edits you suggested and will be posting for submission review.

Cheers, Geebas

Hello. The article I wrote was denied and I was given the reason that the subject was not a notable person due to a lack of secondary references. I have saved the article after removing all references. Could someone guide me in doing what I can to have this article appear. The person was certainly notable: an important news reporter at The Washington Post for 20 years, wrote over 2500 articles on every science subject imaginable, particularly the space program, which he had first-hand contact with throughout the period. He attended all the launches, knew the astronauts and directors, and translated the events into highly readable stories. Similar reporters from the NY Times are noted in Wikipedia (John Noble Wilford). News reporters often are camouflaged by the nature of their work, but the importance of their putting history into words cannot be denied. O'Toole was a character of renown among colleagues in the news industry and at NASA. He spent a ton of time at JPL in Pasadena, at Cape Canaveral and at Houston's Mission Control Flight Center. Exclusion of him from this database would be a mistake. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cosmonaut61 (talkcontribs) 20:51, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable sources that are independent of the subject. In short, we don't care what O'Toole has written, but what others have written about him. He must have been the subject of significant coverage in such sources, both to establish that he is indeed notable and to allow our readers to verify the article's content. Without such sources we cannot have an article on O'Toole. Huon (talk) 21:42, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
