AIM != World View

[edit]

My research indicates that AIM did not even launch until it was taken over by Allarcom (and when it did, all it did was relay Superchannel). IIRC, World View was a separate, regional multicultural pay channel, although it's possible it had the same owners. — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 16:45, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

World View /Cathy International Television

[edit]

As per my research, here is a timeline regarding World View. It looks like it was, indeed, a separate service

1. In 1982, World View was granted a licence to carry a regional Pay TV Service in BC (Decision CRTC 82-240)

2. Launched in 1985

3. In 1995, World View assets were acquired by Cathay International Television (Decision CRTC 85-628)

4. In 1987, Fairchild (previously known as Chinavision) became a competitor to Cathay International Television in BC (Decision CRTC 87-74)

5. In 1992, Cathay International Television was granted a Regional Special TV Service licence to replace its Pay TV Service in BC (Decision CRTC 92-163)

6. In 1993, Cathay International Television assets were acquired by Fairchild (Decisions: CRTC 93-644 & CRTC 93-730) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.226.146.90 (talk) 00:43, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
