Scottish or Irish

[edit]

The paragraph discussing Alexis' ancestors contradicts those of his other family members, who by definition should have the ancestors 2A00:23C6:AA03:1C01:95BD:ABE8:4F65:70EE (talk) 18:49, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ancestry

[edit]

There seems to be a strong willingness to discredit Scottish ancestry from being mentioned as a legitimate part of his ancestry. A fair outcome is for both Scottish and Irish to be mentioned in equal measure. Since after all he has heritage from Fife, in Scotland, and that his surname originated in Scotland before ancestors moved to Ireland and carried the surname through his lineage to present day Argentina. The sources discredit it, Wikipedia works on sources, not the opinions of blokes editing it! You added "he stated he is aware of links to Scotland" when the source you used says nothing of the sort, and removed a quote plus source where he says "the surname Mac Allister comes from Ireland". The Fife angle seems to be what's called circular reporting, as Mac Allister's relatives didn't mention it, and Mac Allister's father said the family was of Irish and Italian heritage to the Guardian, without any mention of Scotland!

As I keep saying - a fair outcome is for both countries to be mentioned in his ancestry since there are sources for both. Simple as that. My edits are aimed at trying to find a common ground so that all parties can be satisfied. Wa944 (talk) 23:19, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are no "parties" here, there are only sources! Wikipedia works on sources, and you are adding info that is either unsupported by the sources, or contradicted by the sources. Also you are removing info and sources because they go against your own opinion! You are a single-purpose account dedicated solely to pushing this angle, it's not on! Could you remove the dash (-) from his name in (External links)? because his name is (Alexis Mac Allister) not (Alexis Mac-Allister) like (Trent Alexander-Arnold). 154.180.230.1 (talk) 11:18, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New club

[edit]

Is anyone going to update the page after his contract with Liverpool? Inei001 (talk) 07:42, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

14 June should be the date to do that [1] as this does not appear to be an international transfer. Then he should be recognised as a Liverpool player. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:22, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mac Allister Argentina vs. Brighton & Hove Albion photo

[edit]

Which is preferable as Mac Allister's photo?

Mac Allister playing for Brighton & Hove Albion https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Alexis_Mac_Allister_2022.jpg

  • Higher quality
  • No longer plays for club

Mac Allister playing for Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Alexis_Mac_Allister_WC_2022.jpg

  • Lower quality
  • More recent
  • Will always have been an Argentine international footballer
  • (Opinion) Better cropped
