History-Present Contributions

[edit]

I added some brief history on arts journalism to help new readers orient themselves to the topic when visiting the page. First, I started by letting readers know that arts journalism is not a brand-new field, as recognized in this article[1]. I provided a reference to a journal started in 1831 to emphasize this point and gave examples of the areas of art journalism that might be seen in a publication. Then, I focused on the present to help readers know more about the current status of art journalism and how it has evolved through technology, as stated in this article [2]. I finished by adding a published study on the changes in focus regarding arts journalism [3]. I also mentioned that arts journalism is sometimes referred to as culture journalism so that readers coming to the page because they heard either term will know that they are one in the same[4].
