[edit]

There are other reasons for YouTube videos being blocked in Germany as well, look at the Youtube channel "1PugLife" which isn't available in Germany, nor are its newer videos (the older ones hadn't been blocked yet). Nobody could tell me so far, why this channel is blocked, and if it is the only one, or if there are others. Just thought, this issue should be mentioned in the article, since blocking due to the GEMA performance rights situation is apparently not the only reason why a video can be blocked in Germany. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.178.199.104 (talkcontribs) 06:38, 31 October 2012

The most important thing seems to be missing

[edit]

Seems youtube uses whitelist in Germany, not blacklist. I.e. only allowed videos are shown. This is fucking crazy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.110.52.184 (talkcontribs) 21:33, 16 February 2013

It seems more like ransom or blackmail! On the list of blocked content in Germany there are: song covers, song parodies and original song videos posted directly by artists (or their distributors) and Creative common content. If you don't pay us we will block you on YT... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.198.80.0 (talk) 21:17, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

looks like censorship to me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.19.172.171 (talk) 07:54, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube videos blocked in Germany of not supporting GEMA

[edit]

Some of the videos on YouTube are blocked in Germany, because it contains music that are not supported with GEMA that does not granted of the respective music rights.

Music on this list that are not supported in Germany:

  • Band of Brothers - Austria
  • London Metropolitan Orchestra ; Michael Kamen-Austria
