Date prediction

[edit]

According to the author, it will be half a century before we have the required technology to build them. Is this from now, or the 1988 article publication? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.88.248.58 (talk) 17:19, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

origins

[edit]

Who first described the concept, and when? Moravec's book is dated 1988, but I first read of a bush robot in Forward's novel Rocheworld, 1982. —Tamfang (talk) 07:51, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Come to think of it, the Christmas Bush in Rocheworld (so called because it communicates with colored lights) is a bit like utility fog in that it sometimes separates into smaller pieces. —Tamfang (talk) 08:01, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
