Why July 25?

[edit]

Renowned law professor Antonio Fernós, the son of PR Constitutional Convention chairman Antonio Fernos Isern admitted in an El Nuevo Dia artcle today that Gov. Luis Muñoz Marin chose July 25 as the date to proclaim the Constitution as a ploy to overshadow the prior reason for celebrating a holiday on that day, the arrival of US military troops to PR n Guánica on July 25, 1898. Following is the relevant text:

Secretary of State Kenneth McClintock and Constitution Day keynote speaker and former Gov. Carlos Romero Barcelo highlighted this admission today as an important historical fact long suspected but never previously confirmed. I have included a reference in the article. Excluded text

[edit]

The Congress, in approving the Constitution, required that it be amended to exclude certain texts. That significant fact is not addressed by the article. It should. Pr4ever (talk) 19:44, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Pr4ever: Do you have any sources that cover this? -- 16:12, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Depth of coverage

[edit]

We really shouldn't have the whole text listed here, that is what Wikisource is for (which is linked at the bottom of the article). The article should be reduced to briefly summarize the text based on reliable sources coverage on the material to maintain notability standards. Having more sources and less "non-notable" information would be very helpful in improving the quality of this article. --Endercase (talk) 16:12, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Language

[edit]

This article says that the original title was in Spanish. Is the whole text in Spanish ? Or in both Spanish and English ? -- Beardo (talk) 23:44, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
