Proposal to merge with "Dogfights (TV series)"

[edit]

I has been suggested that this article be merged with "Dogfights (TV series)". However, I believe it would be better to keep this article separate. Although the game is of course based on the TV series, the game and the TV series are really two separate things, appropriate for two separate articles. The game is certainly notable in its own right, as shown by the references in this article. And there's more than enough material already in the article to justify keeping it separate. So, I think it's better not to merge. — Mudwater 23:52, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's been 25 days and no one else has said anything about this. So, I've removed the "merge" template. — Mudwater 04:16, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode list

[edit]

Recently an editor removed the episode list from the article. I'm going to put it back. If anyone thinks that the article is better without the episode list, please explain why in this talk page section. Thanks. Mudwater (Talk) 00:03, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see why we need to list the missions of a mediocre game. The "episodes" seem extraordinarily generic and I think the only way their content should be listed is as examples in the gameplay section, but they already are, to what seems like an appropriate extent. They are randomly staged battles, void of any significant plot, story-telling or greater narrative, so I don't think they should listed individually. Eik Corell 02:01, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for explaining. But, I think the article is better with the episode list left in. It provides interesting and useful information about the game. You're saying that the game is mediocre, and that the episodes or missions are pretty generic and uninteresting. I neither agree nor disagree with that, I just think the episode list, with the descriptions, adds to the article. And also, there's no guideline saying that articles about not very good games should be shorter than articles about excellent games, so there's no compelling reason to shorten the article. Other editors are encouraged to chime in. Mudwater (Talk) 02:15, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
