Part of the series?

[edit]

I don't see how this game can be considered part of the Formula One series of games. Other than the Intellectual Property, it has nothing to do with Sony's line of games. 74.170.38.139 (talk) 04:45, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, it is not a Sony game in any sense. The template should be renamed Formula One Games instead of Formula One Series because half of the games on there have no connection to each other, apart from the fact that they are Formula One video games. Cadan ap Tomos 14:54, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree also, the licensing people specifically said that they were starting a new series of games with Codemasters, so we should change this Will (talk) 16:48, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with this actually as it is still a Formula 1 game. It doesn't matter who developed it. For example the Call Of Duty Series are developed by diffrent people but still classed as the same series. Chris (talk) 21:15, 9 Febuary 2009 (UTC)

That's because Chris the Call Of Duty series is co-owned by Infinity Ward and Treyarch with Activision having the final say on publishing rights. The F1 license is solely owned. 91.105.19.196 (talk) 04:20, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2009 in title?

[edit]

I don't think that the use of 2009 in the title of this page is right. Codemasters have never said it will be based on the 2009 season, and they've never said it will be realased in 2009 either. Indeed, on the Codemasters website, they refer to the game as "F1 The Game", so no clues there. The information on this page is based on SimRacingWorld's info, and why do we trust them? Indeed, they say that Formula One 2009 is an unoffical name. Where's their info coming from? It's certainly not on the web. Anyway, I think that it should be moved to either "Future Formula One video game" or "Codemasters Formula One video game", until further information is released about the game's release date. Darth Newdar (talk) 14:03, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone have an opinion on this? Darth Newdar (talk) 08:16, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't, but you may care to raise the issue at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games for increased visibility. DH85868993 (talk) 10:26, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm assuming this was discussed before the game cover was released? - Dudesleeper talk 12:51, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's right. Darth Newdar talk 14:03, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date?

[edit]

I've found two different release dates for this game 27 November 2009 on Play.com and 25 September on 2009 Game.co.uk and Gamestation.co.uk. The Publishers seen to be quiet with an exact date only stating Autumn 2009. Which is it? (90.219.167.232 (talk) 15:13, 12 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

For the moment, I've put the release date as "Autumn 2009" – that is what the publishers say, so that's the most official source we've got. Darth Newdar talk 14:04, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ego Engine?

[edit]

did you know that the ego engine is not powerful enough for the wii. the wii is not as powerful as the xbox 360 or ps3? will it use outrun 2 engine?

Are you sure, Race Driver: Grid (on both the xbox 360 and PS3) uses this engine and received almost universal praise from critics when released. Colin McRae: Dirt 2 (just released) also uses this engine and got a positive review. And Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising soon to be released will also use this engine.
