This lil monkey inspired my Nom De Guerre in Team Fortress Classic and various other violent online games:)--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 12:31, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Where have all the flowers gone?

[edit]

Please add information. There plays song 'Where have all the flowers gone?' when Burns asks if his station has killed the ducks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.233.170.97 (talk) 16:04, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Simpsonswiki and simpsons archive are reliable sources that have been used reliably many other times on other articles, particularly simpsons archive which offers extensive in depth information on each episode. Futhermore I have watched this episode and confirmed the validity of the information. Phineasqphailboat (talk) 05:52, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Simpsons Wiki does not qualify as a reliable source. It should not be used either here or elsewhere, and its use elsewhere is not in itself a reason to use it here (see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS). The episode itself can be used as a primary source for plotline, but it itself cannot confirm what is being referred to - for example, it can't demonstrate that Colonel Ka-taffy is intended as a parody of Gadaffi. Nikkimaria (talk) 19:50, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, but what was wrong with the other edits. Bart literally says "Mr. Bond" and "Octopussy" verbatim, not as an allusion. The simpsons archive is acting as a secondary source citing the episode. Can I reinstate the other portions using the episode as a reference? Phineasqphailboat (talk) 21:42, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bart mentions "Mr. Bond" and "Octopussy" while in the newsroom.<ref>Episode "Girly Edition"</ref>
Is that what you want to include? Nikkimaria (talk) 22:17, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, thank-you for your help. Phineasqphailboat (talk) 23:03, 16 December 2015 (UTC) Phineasqphailboat (talk) 23:03, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What is this a reference to?

[edit]

One of Bart's stories, the one about the ducks, is almost entirely the same as a clip from the "You Could Stop At Five Or Six Stores" video. Was Simpsons intentionally referencing Five Or Six Stores, or was this story taken from somewhere else and used in both? Scrooge200 (talk) 21:06, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
