Hi There Wikipedians,

We have taken a look into this article and have a few critiques that may add validity and reliability to this article:

1. We found that link 2, mentioned many times throughout Julia Anna Gardner's page is a dead link. Although this is bound to occur with webpages, it occurs too frequently to be dead for the readers information. Could this be updated or modified? There are many pages out there with similar information regarding her work.

2. The language used throughout tends to echo a biased viewpoint towards Julia Anna Gardner. We have noted the following below and suggest a more neutral tone that states facts rather than emotions.

  • "Julia was an epitome of goodness. Her relationship with people exemplified thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity. Little wonder, in her moment of sickness, her friends nourished and cared for her until her last breath.[5] In the year 1960 at the age of 78, Gardner died at her home in Maryland.[9]" -- this item is biased. We suggest that it should be eliminated and that death details be included as matter of fact matter under a new subheading labelled "Death"
  • "Julia took part in fieldwork all over the world, including rougher locations such as those throughout Mexico. She spent weeks visiting and spending time in places that other geographers may not have dared visit." The language used in these few sentences are dramatic and unclear. It would be useful to remove "dared" and create "that no other geographers had visited before". Also, providing evidence and fact of where these places and locations were would verify this information.
  • Under "Awards and Honors" there should be no mention about how she was as a friend but rather as a professional geologist and her work in the field.

3. Why was information regarding Gardner's Grandmother's financial input included in this article? Is it necessary information?

4. Could a photograph of her be added to the article as it is about her as an individual?

5. Could her information regarding her death be included under a new sub-section labelled "Death" that includes her prognosis and death date? Any other irrelevant information could be removed. This would then mirror what a typical Wikipedia biography looks like.
