"Kuka"

[edit]

Dunno if it's worth mentioning but "Kuka" means trashcan in Hungarian and Pavel Kuka was a Czech footballer? // Gargaj 13:19, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can't imagine that the trashcan translation is relevant, since this robot company is German and not Hungarian. Pavel, if he's a notable player, deserves his own article. -- Mikeblas 14:49, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trashcan in Hungarian _is_ relevant. It became part of the language in the 1950s when trash collection began with KUKA designed mechanics on the trucks. Therefor KUKA "compatible" trashcans were used, and they became known as "kuka". Reference: hu:Kuka —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.140.4.78 (talk) 07:58, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

KUKA is just a shortform of Keller Und Knappich Augsburg. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.160.77.98 (talk) 11:10, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
