Can someone perform the following two edits: Epicgenius (talk) 15:55, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Second paragraph of history section

[edit]

In the second paragraph of the history section, please change the following:

The college's first president was Joseph Shenker, who had been Acting President of Kingsborough Community College and at age 29, the youngest community college president anywhere in the United States.[citation needed]

to the following:

The college's first president was Joseph Shenker, who had been Acting President of Kingsborough Community College and at age 29, one of the youngest community college presidents anywhere in the United States.[1]

The reasons for this edit are:

  1. This will add a source for a formerly unreferenced statement.
  2. The source says that Shenker was actually one of the youngest, not the youngest. Epicgenius (talk) 13:48, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New paragraph, end of history section

[edit]

At the end of the history section, please add a new paragraph mentioning the following:

In early 2024, Steve Cohen's Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation donated $116 million for the establishment of a workforce development center at LaGuardia Community College, which is planned to open in 2029.[2]

The reason for this edit is that it's a fairly significant gift (actually, one of the largest ever made to a community college in the U.S.) and represents an expansion of the campus facilities.

Thanks in advance. – Epicgenius (talk) 13:48, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
