Accent

[edit]

   My

correct spelling: the word lamé designates metallic cloth, but the plates have no accent. Actually appears "lamé" (metallic cloth) is a later term, derived from "lame" (metal plate).

crusade tour reflects both American Heritage Dictionary#First edition and my MWs. I have not determined whether all uses of the accent are attributable to the retired creator of Lamé (armor), and further discussion may be called for.
