RE; Famous Alumni

[edit]

I see that one person added Matt Lewis as a "Famous Alumni", only to have it removed by another for grounds of notability. I can see how he might be notable, but might not.. yes, he's an Elvis impersonator, but apparently a good one. I'm refraining from entering a final judgement on his notability myself as I somewhat knew of him from when I had his mother as a teacher for several classes in HS myself. However, from what I understand he is one of the top Elvis performers going, and performed with the "Legends in Concert" show in Vegas at the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino, which I guess you could call the top of the celebrity impersonation shows. Still, at what level do you call someone famous? I have had at least one person not from the immediate area mention him to me (one of those "Oh, you're from there? I believe this one performer is from there too..." type scenarios), but still... --Reverend Loki 22:18, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If your think its important I won't remove it again. I only did that first time because there was no wiki article and the title "elvis performer" wasn't flattering. Sorry Grey Wanderer | Talk 22:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No need to apologize. Honestly, I'm not even making the argument that it is important - just that there may be the case for it. I agree, normally "elvis performer" isn't flattering, and not something to attest to ones notability, but it may be this is an exception. I also know and fully acknowledge that I'm too close to make an objective decision, so I'll leave it to the original poster on that. I just saw that this was one of those odd cases in one of my watched articles... --Reverend Loki 22:37, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
