Other cups

[edit]

I found this in the lead:

While the Copa Merconorte and Copa Mercosur are considered to be the predecessors to the Copa Sudamericana, CONMEBOL does not consider the tournaments to be official CONMEBOL contests, and therefore successes in this competition are not included in the list. Results from minor and short competitions such as the Copa Ganadores de Copa, Copa Oro, Supercopa Masters, Copa Masters Conmebol and the Copa Interamericana are also not taken into account. Also excluded is the FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA club competition.

This is not true and will be changed. In addition, it contradicts what is said in the List of confederation and inter-confederation club competition winners Source. --MicroX (talk) 18:44, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copa Libertadores U-20

[edit]

The U-20 should not be taken into account. It competes on another level of football. For instance, a national team does not list its senior World Cups along with their U-20 and/or U-17 World Cups. --MicroX (talk) 01:29, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is a comprehensive list of all male club tournaments of Conmebol, therefore its inclusion is absolutely valid.--Darius (talk) 03:14, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But we can agree to change that and indicate in the lead section that this list encompasses all unrestricted, senior level football competitions. --MicroX (talk) 00:01, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with MicroX. Aside from the argument he brought up, the U-20 Libertadores is not even listed as a title the Honours section of its winning clubs (and it shouldn't be, as it's not a senior-level competition). Also, this article is clearly modelled after List of UEFA club competition winners which also doesn't list the UEFA Youth League among UEFA's competitions. Following the controversy after its website listed Copa Aldao and Tie Cup as official competitions, CONMEBOL than released this statement listing its official competitions, and the U-20 Libertadores is not among them.Felipe Bini (talk) 03:22, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
