I don't understand why this article ought to be "speedily deleted". It's just a link on the "List of English words of Foreign Origin" page, and so it's not redundant.

Huh? Saw a red link on Lists of English words of international origin, thought... well lets start it then (borrowing info from the Tagalog language article). And now I see the "new" article has a talk page with an entry that’s older then the "new" article! What’s the history here? (if interesting) -- Van helsing 13:35, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not all of these words came from Tagalog and Tagalog's dialects, according to the article. The article's title is therefore misleading. There is one article at Lists of English loanwords by country or language of origin that is not language-specific -- List of English words from indigenous languages of the Americas -- and so I suggest List of English words from indigenous languages of the Philippines as our new article name. An alternative is the Indonesian article: "List of English words of Indonesian origin, including from Javanese, Malay (Sumatran) Sundanese, Papuan (Papua), Balinese, Dayak and other local languages in Indonesia" --Bruce Hall (talk) 02:38, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
