~~Would it be possible for someone with the appropriate knowledge to include all companies with a sizable operations in New York City though aren't necessarily headquartered there. The list of cities located in Chicago and then the Chicagoland area is an excellent example of how this would be done. It includes companies in the city, the suburbs, and those with a significant presence with the Chicagoland area. I know this isn't super important but it would be useful considering that it has become more and more common for companies to 'retreat' to the suburbs. -[Username:Frodowilson]

Inclusion criteria

[edit]

What is the standard for inclusion? I start a paper route and add myself? Go by WP:CSC? (In which case the list needs to be pruned). --— Rhododendrites talk17:48, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

...Several months later, I went ahead and applied WP:CSC. Basically that means I removed all of the companies that don't have a Wikipedia article to establish notability and changed "major corporations" in the lead to "notable corporations" since "major" wasn't defined but notability usually assumes CSC. I also went through and alphabetized everything and removed random external links to company websites. If a company has a Wikipedia article, that it's based in NYC should be there, so I also removed the refimprove tag that had been there since 2009. --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 16:16, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cadillac

[edit]

Cadillac is no longer headquartered in NYC. They moved their offices back to Metro Detroit. Can someone edit the table to show that? I couldn't manage to figure it out. Bill Heller (talk) 22:59, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
