Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Most of the hunger strikers were not involved in petty crime before becoming involved in paramilitary activity. Also untypically, he did not come from a large extended family. See Beresford's book. PatGallacher 10:49, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Petty Crime

[edit]

There are two separate claims being made here:

  • Michael Devine was involved in petty crime before becoming involved in the republican movement
  • Involvement in petty crime was atypical of the hunger strikers.

Neither of these claims is cited, so in my opinion User:Weggie is justified in removing them. Note that he/she is only removing uncited claims, not presenting uncited claims of his/her own. Demiurge 09:58, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They are not uncited, the source is Beresford's account "Ten Men Dead". PatGallacher 10:03, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Page number / ISBN are needed for a citation

With the addition of the footballer I am not sure that this person is clearly the best known of the name. Should this page be a disambiguation? PatGallacher (talk) 16:36, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unless anyone objects I propose to turn this page into a disambiguation, and turn Mickey Devine into a redirect to it. PatGallacher (talk) 15:47, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
