Text Colour (Proposal)

[edit]

This is in regards to whether we should have the design black-on-blue (what it is now) or white-on-blue (what it was on the harmonized page with all the episodes before the split). I personally don't think white-on-blue is illegible; we never had a single complaint(that I know of) back on the old page. And the black text just makes it inconsistent with the other season pages. So, which one should it be? I am not going to bother reverting it to my preference unless there is a consensus for the change, or perhaps should we pick a different colour all together? Please add any questions/comments/concerns below. Thanks! --Yellow1996 (talk) 17:35, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, black-on-blue looks better, especially when it's light blue. If it was a normal or darker blue, I'd probably say go with white text. Also, I like how the colors were changed due to the Season 1 DVD having a purple banner, and therefore we made Season 1's color on Wikipedia be the same purple. dogman15 (talk) 20:09, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're right. White text would look better if it was a darker shade of blue. I guess I just got so used to the one from the old page that my instant reaction when I saw the change was to get the old version back. When they release Season 3 on DVD we could change the colour to what the banner is on the cover. So I guess let's keep it at black-on-blue, then! --Yellow1996 (talk) 01:31, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and table background color

[edit]

Currently, Season 3's infobox and the header background color on the list tables is #80DFFF, a light blue color. As revealed today, the top part of the Season 3 box is approximately the color #0793C7, a dark blue similar to the color we're currently using for Season 4, #266099. If we want these episode lists to match colors with their DVD boxes (purple for Season 1 and pink for Season 2), should we change things here on Season 3, too? dogman15 (talk) 02:50, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I agree. Season 3 should be a dark blue like we have currently at Season 4 (to match the box.) In the meantime, Season 4's infobox could be changed to something temporary (maybe a green?) --.Yellow1996.(ЬMИED¡) 18:40, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Recent IP edit

[edit]

Can someone tell if https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=My_Little_Pony%3A_Friendship_Is_Magic_%28season_3%29&action=historysubmit&diff=587952781&oldid=585973921 is vandalism or a sensible edit? I don't even know what a "Production Code" is. Pinkbeast (talk) 20:02, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Production codes are internal numbers by a studio to track episode when they are not sure of season or episode order. As to whether the changes are right, I don't know beyond that we do know production order and waiting order were different for s3. --MASEM (t) 02:10, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Production order

[edit]

"We sort by production order", says a recent reversion of a GF IP edit. That does rather make me wonder why. If there's something in the MOS to mandate that, I'm missing it, and it seems far more logical to sort in the order in which one would naturally watch the episodes. Production order strikes me as a piece of arbitary miscellany - they could produce the season backwards and an ordinary viewer might never know. Pinkbeast (talk) 19:01, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems

[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
