I reverted the changes made in the last few days, trying to spread the new "Napoli" meme á la "santorum". While I do happen to agree that Bill Napoli is an asshole, Wikipedia is not the place for this. The added material should be transwikied to a Wiktionary page.

Agreed and done

Ah, and a nice job too - thanks for playing nicely. :-)

No worries. Consenus on projects like this is important and it always sucks when people damage a shared resource while exploiting it. I always thought that the term wikipedia was being stretched a bit by the addition of definitions - I didn't realize that the wiktionary project was out there to combat the trend.

Redirect of Napoli

[edit]

At the moment Napoli redirects to Naples. I think either

I don't like the current situation whereby someone searching for, say, a ship or person named Napoli will arrive at the Naples article and have no immediately obvious way to find the article they're looking for. I prefer option (a) and I will do the necessary changes in the next few days unless someone objects.--86.74.186.220 (talk) 13:17, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I hope the "necessary changes" you refer to include going through all of the 200 or so other articles that contain links to "Napoli" and fixing those that refer to the city to link to the Naples article. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 10:45, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
