International Licensing

[edit]

It seems that a company by the name of Gamigo has a website with Neosteam complete with an open beta. I'm not quite sure but it seems that Gamigo has the license for the game in the UK whereas Atlus has the license for the US. Can anybody else confirm this? Just want to clear it up, I was slightly confused when I stumbled across two different sites for the same MMO.

Name, and misceallaneous thingies

[edit]

The name is commonly said in game with a space, as in Neo Steam...the logo also has the space inside...why doesn't the article? Also, I'm going to upload some screenshots later, and do some extensive editing, as a lot of this article is misleading. Can't right now, though...as I'm in school.Fruckert (talk) 15:29, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The official website doesn't use CamelCase either, so I have renamed the article, thanks for pointing that out. Glad to hear you will be getting a screenshot - be sure to read the Wikiproject Video Games guideline on screenshots at WP:VGIMAGES. I would suggest no more than two screenshots. Oops...forgot about this...I'll get some screenshots in as soon as I play later today. Fruckert (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:07, 7 June 2009 (UTC).[reply]
...I did too sign my comment >_>...anyways, can we try to get Neo Steam restored, for a Redirect? It's blocked right now, due to excessive inappropriate articles. Fruckert (talk) 20:11, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can look in to getting someone with authority to make the #REDIRECT tag on it. Though this would need some thinking. It would make more sense to have the page as the main article and have this article redirect to it and have its own subsection of the page with a short summary of The Shattered Continent's difference from the EU version. I see - is "The Shattered Continent" not used in all versions? If this is the case, I can make the necessary moves and redirects. Marasmusine (talk) 07:56, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am not aware if "The Shattered Continent" is used in all versions, but more often then not, it's just reffered to as "Neo Steam", as the full title is quite the mouth full. Also, still working on the screenshots, I'm having trouble getting some good ones, as my character name (Fruckert), might offend people. Fruckert (talk) 17:07, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
WP:VG/GL suggests that we should use the full, English language title, so I've redirected Neo Steam to here. If you're interested seeing this article developed in the long-term, it would be helpful to know if the game has had any reviews in print or on reliable websites. Without anything like that, it could be deleted due to lack of notability. So, keep your eyes peeled! Marasmusine (talk) 17:19, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The full English language title then is "Neo Steam". "The Shattered Continent" is the name of the first content patch (most games from Asia are like that - Wikipedia games group needs Asian editors). You can check "NeoSteam Europe" (as they officially write it) here: http://neosteam.gamigo.com/ If that is not "English" then I don't know what "English" is. You can also check the official portal-redirection site here: http://www.neosteam.com/ It is all written simply as "Neo Steam" (or "NeoSteam"). Better reverse the redirections. 112.198.141.54 (talk) 06:21, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
