GA Review

[edit]
This review is transcluded from Talk:New Jersey Route 284/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Once again, this is a small article, but it seems to be a short route. I did a small bit of copyediting as I looked through it. I also found a few things I wanted to mention:

  1. Is it possible to get a map of the route, as I find that it is a very helpful feature in other road articles?
Will, as soon as possible.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "at a traffic light in Sussex with NJ 23" - perhaps "at an intersection with NJ 23 at a traffic light in Sussex"?
Not the way, but changed.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "at less than a 1/2 mile" - should this be "half mile"? and what does it mean in this context? half a mile down the road? could this be rephrased?
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "The road merges in less than a mile later." - merges with what?
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "Route 284 exits New Jersey for" - perhaps "Route 284 ends at the border with New York state"?
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Most articles on roads that touch state borders seem to indicate what the new designation for the road is in the next state. Could this be done here (eg. "Route 284 ends at the border with New York state, where it becomes NY xx")?
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Is it possible to add the names of the local roads, lake, stream, etc.? I found it very helpful when the names were added during the review of New York State Route 368.
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "Pre-1927 Route 8 ran" - perhaps "Before 1927, Route 8 ran..."?
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "was taken over in 1919" - by whom? or by what?
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Is the bolding necessary in the History section?
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Reference 1 needs a publisher and access date.
Done.Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will place this nomination on hold to allow for these changes to be made. Any questions or comments can be left here, as I have placed this page on my watchlist. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 23:43, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All done :) - Mitch32(UP) 00:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the article is looking better. I'm still not fond of "Route 8, pre-1927,", however. Is there a different way to say this? Other than that, I think it's just the map. Any word on how that's coming? GaryColemanFan (talk) 15:43, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Like NY 61, promote without the map. I am heading to Buffalo and cannot request one until Monday, October 20. Otherwise, the lone issue is done.Mitch32(UP) 19:53, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that I'm trying to be helpful with these reviews. I sense a lack of patience, but I hope you can understand that I want the article to be as good as possible before it is promoted. I put in the request for a map. Again, if you can get one sooner, I would really appreciate it if you could delete my request. With that said, I am promoting the article. Great job, once again!
