Deletion of psalm 51 connection

[edit]

An editor reported that a certain scholar pointed out connections between the opening of the mouth ceremony and psalm 51. Because the editor did not say what those connections were and provided a source that is not easy to check to see what those connections might be, I deleted the claim. If you can tell us some information as to what this scholar's views are and why they are relevant, please add the claim back and add that content to the article. There are also similarities to the Mesopotamian mis pi ritual. There should be an extensive literature on that, although possibly not on the parallels. E.g., Vladimir Emelianov has an article "The Ritual of Water-Consecration in Sumerian Texts.Analysis of its materials and structure". --Oop (talk) 06:47, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
