Update on AFD: I am invalidating the results of the 2007-02-08 AFD (which resulted in "Merge") due to sockpuppetry (see Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/O'Donoghue). Since Patrick Kelly has since become a disambiguation page, the original page has been history-split to Patrick Joseph Kelly. If anybody is still in favor of deleting or merging this article, please open a new AFD. Quarl (talk) 2007-04-04 12:19Z

Maybe rename this as Patrick Kelly (Irish republican) with Patrick Joseph Kelly as a redirect.--Vintagekits 12:44, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just leave it where it is I think, he did initially put it at Patrick Kelly (Irish republican) then moved it here. One Night In Hackney303 12:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You reckon? the Name (Irish republican) is the usual format we take in this situation.--Vintagekits 12:56, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That isn't a standard Wiki convention though, it's fine here. One Night In Hackney303 12:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion

[edit]

I'm in possession of several books which cover Kelly in at least some detail, and will be expanding the article in the coming week as it's on my list of 1,001 things to do. Therefore if anyone does wish to take this article to AfD, I kindly request that you at least wait until this task has been performed first. Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 13:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I cant see anyone trying to AfD it to be honest so no rush. I'll keep an eye on it however.--Vintagekits 14:31, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eugene Kelly

[edit]

Was Eugene Kelly Patrick's brother? If so, the article needs to state this fact.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 15:12, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. I never read that. But if he was, that should, of course, be mentioned. I am pretty sure if they were brothers and had been killed at the same time I (we) would have read about it. There are a few instances of brothers being killed on the same mission (both during 1919-23 and 1969-97). Quis separabit? 23:48, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]

QS, what was your rationale for moving this page? Gob Lofa (talk) 23:41, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't get pinged, but I happened to be checking my watchlist. I did it because there are an enormous number of Patrick Kellys (including in the 'RA), so I figured it would clarify. might as well be bold. But if you have a substantive objection I will not contest your reverting, as per WP:BRD. Quis separabit? 23:45, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There's only one Patrick Joseph Kelly, which is a lot easier to write than your new title. Gob Lofa (talk) 00:01, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe there's only one Patrick Joseph Kelly (on Wikipedia, of course, not worldwide), but is including a middle name in an otherwise overly common name in lieu of some disambiguation kosher? If so, go for it. Quis separabit? 00:06, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
