Church and Ministry

[edit]

I would say that it is problematic at best to say that Robert and his brother founded Churches of Christ congregations (and then linking to the Churches of Christ pages) in Scotland and Ireland. While the Haldane's churches are related to what would become the Stone-Campbell Movement, to call them "Churches of Christ" in the contemporary sense is to misrepresent what these churches actually were. Furthermore, while the Haldane's might have called some of their congregations "Churches of Christ," they did not call all of them by this title, and several other independency churches called themselves this as well, such as the Glasites/Sandemanians. I would suggest we call them "Haldenite" churches, or "Haldenite Baptist" churches, as that is what their contemporaries called them. Dwight911 (talk) 21:54, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
