Sub-Saharan African woman?

[edit]

I have a question and want to know why this woman is coined as Sub-Saharan woman? According to the author" She was the first Sub-Saharan African woman to direct a commercially distributed feature film, Kaddu Beykat, which was released in 1976.

Why is she not the first African woman to direct a commercially distributed feature film. I will understand Sub-Saharan if any other woman from North Africa or has done this before here. If not the use of the word Sub-Saharan is completely not necessary and is being used to instigate division in Africa.

Should we Africans accept this, no longer don't have to. So I am calling out on the author to explain the use of Sub-Sahara African instead of just African. Are you scheming to divide Africa in Sub- and Upper-Sahara?

Is this author biased and is wikipedia.org supporting such biased view based to divide a continent. Alphamattstygo (talk) 11:01, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
