Question Concerning The Comparison Picture

[edit]

Forgive me if I sound insolent when I ask you this, @Paul venter:, but, what is the purpose of the coelacanth comparison picture? I could understand if it was comparing close relatives, or was a size comparison chart, but, as Animalparty stated, it does look awkward.--Mr Fink (talk) 21:54, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The illustration depicts Serenichthys and the 5 fossil species of coelacanth previously known. The comparison of body shapes is of great interest, not only to the casual reader, but also to the authors who compiled it and included it in their paper submitted to the Linnaean Society.
