Comment from Tina n dutta

[edit]

Pls remove the page protection link. Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia where all users can edit . For example ,awards and nominations has to be uploaded And anyone can do that Stop protecting this page. Moreover 1983 is not the proper DOB. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tina n dutta (talkcontribs) 08:22, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is the encyclopedia where all users can edit, provided they edit in accordance with our policies and established community guidelines. Unsourced birthdates are not allowed per WP:BLPPRIVACY. Abusing multiple accounts to edit contrary to community standards, is a violation of our WP:SOCKPUPPETRY policy. Those who violate that, wind up unwelcome to edit until they clear that block. Further, per the comments you left on my talk page, where you argue that the Bengali Wikipedia lists his DOB as 1986, that would not be suitable, because we do not use user-generated content as references, not even Wikipedia. Anyway, a moot point as you are not presently welcome to edit at Wikipedia.
@Fylindfotberserk: The current reference, Newsroom Post, is not ideal--I've never heard of it. It says in a 2014 post that the subject turned 31 (i.e. was born in 1983). I found this article from the Jakarta Post, an Indonesian newspaper that has been around for decades. It's a 2015 article printed after his March birthday, and says he is 31, implying he was born in 1984. This could also be another case of an actor lying about their age every year. Most of the lesser rags seem to think he was born in 1984.[1][2][3]. While I wouldn't use them as references, they can often be useful in figuring out what the status quo belief is. Do you think you could look into this and figure out a method of approach that seems reasonable? I'd rather not be intwined in this. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:10, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cyphoidbomb: Newsroom Post seems unreliable. No mention of who runs it [4]. I'll go with the Jakarta Post on this one. As you've said, the bloggy ones like these [5], [6], [7] are quite useful and all these mention 1984. I'm going to update this. If somebody has a problem with that, they can discuss it here. We can have a "range" then . Thanks for pinging me. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:35, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Monopoly over this page by @cyphoidbomb with improper use of language & sustained protection with wrong facts.

[edit]

@cyphoidbomb shutting up the other users is not how wikipedia works.More over protecting the page time to time or reverting back every useful change shall not be accepted. Flaredeed (talk) 23:35, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Flaredeed, Repeated additions of unsourced material, non-notable awards and promotional editing that have continued are the cause of the semi-protection being put on the article. When that stops, so will the need to semi-protect the article. It's pretty simple. Ravensfire (talk) 01:57, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reversion of formatting

[edit]

@Sufyan mohd: I've reverted the table formatting choices you made in these edits. I'm not sure what you were going for, but on my devices, the text appears smaller and harder to read, which doesn't do our readers much good, and contravenes WP:ACCESSIBILITY. Please don't arbitrarily make changes like this without seeking consensus first. I don't see this sort of microscopic text in Featured Filmography lists like Audrey Hepburn on screen and stage, Rudolph Valentino filmography, Amitabh Bachchan filmography just to pick a few at random.
