Whats with all these articles that arent necessary yet?

wild guess: get all the template stuff ready. if you can prove to me that its hurting anything then we can talk about removing them :p

"For like the fourth time" got a chuckle from me. Also, Wikipedia has thousands of uneeded aritcles. Go ahead, look up for any single Pokemon, you'll find tons of info I bet.

i think its for the best wikipedia is big. if anything, the wikimedia foundation should have projects that cover every aspect of the universe's past, history, and future. but thats just me :D

Thats Interesting

[edit]

Its kinda interesting to know that this episode was struck by lightning. It should be electrifying. Gwag Oct. 8, 2006 14:35 (EST)

-Lmao! Umbric Man 11:09 P.M. Oct 8th 2006

It's funny that this episode contained a character modelled after Klaus Nomi, who had a hit song "Lighting Strikes" (known also as "Lighting Striking Again"

More age timeline analysis

[edit]

Of note: Dr. Venture says that Dr. Girlfriend was the first to have him in 18 years. Considering that Season 1 is 2 years prior to this episode. and Dr. Venture is currently 44 years old. This would mean that Dr. Venture's last was when he was 24 (44 - 2 - 18 = 24). I think it's safe to say that Mira and Dr. Girlfriend are they only two women he's slept with. -th1rt3en 06:50, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

-Good eye! I think it also depends on when the boys were born depending on what age you go for them-16 for the boys' own supposed ages makes it 27-28 for Thaddeus, but definantly around 24 if you take Myra seriously (which I rather do). I need to remake the timeline..Umbric Man 12:46 P.M. 9th Oct 2006

we'll, we know that they boys original bodies would be older than 16, based on the comment Hank made about his license. Mira and Doc did sleep together, confirmed by Doc. If you want to take into account the condom Doc was going to use had pretty much fossilized, you can argue that he hasn't had sex in QUITE a while. And if this is all true, that would mean that Mira IS the mother of the Venture Brothers. D: -th1rt3en 18:21, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry man, but you misheard. Dr. Venture said that she was the "...finest woman in 18 years...", not "first." So it does not really help us in this department. 70.40.150.89 06:54, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Rats. :( -th1rt3en 07:01, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rusty did say that he didn't lose his virginity until 24 because his father educated him in bed, didn't he?TheLoverly 06:19, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fix/Airplane Trivia

[edit]

At this point we have no confirmation that the episode not airing on the fix is in any way related to the airplane incident. Considering most shipping services that use airplanes (FedEx Express, for example), do so for overnight deliveries, it is more likely that the episode shipped out friday or saturday. According to the post on the boards, the lack of a showing on the Fix is a result of the episode simply not being finished, ie, some part of the production remained incomplete, and makes not mention of the airplane incident. --Carterhawk 07:07, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, *looks at watch* am I mistaken or isn't it 2006? Venture Bros episodes are flown to the broadcasting point on VIDEOTAPE?
Thats what the man says, and since he kinda, you know, makes the show, he would know :p --Carterhawk 21:40, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Jackson Publick made a mention on his blog that the episode apparently didn't get to the network until that Saturday. Considering that this is the only episode that wasn't up on the Fix in time, and we know that the plane was delayed and hit by lightning (confirmed by Jackson Publick on James Urbaniak's blog, and on the bump preceding the TV premiere of the episode. We know that the episode wasn't held off of the Fix because Part 2 premiered on the Friday night, and if Part 1 was just being held back because Jackson Publick didn't want the episode to be spoiled, it would make sense for Part 2 to be held back as well. I'm getting rid of the citation, because it's painfully obvious now given that Part 2 premiered on time, and we have some confirmation that the episode wasn't in time for the online premiere. --Ramrod? 02:22, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with your logic. Nothing on the blog entry suggests that the plane delay occured before saturday, Nor does the bump make even a passing mention of the Fix. Get me evidence of the connection between the plane being delayed (it could have been a same day courrier flight) and the episode not showing on the fix. --Carterhawk 07:00, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[1] Jackson Publick's post on James Urbaniak's blog (which I mentioned in my previous post) was made on October 5, 2006, 10:02 PM UTC, the Thursday before the episode would premiere on the Fix. There is proof, you just need to go out and make sure that what you're saying is correct before you make claims. -Ramrod? 00:38, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's even more absurd is that the link to the Urbaniak blog and Jackson Publick comment on that Thursday is listed right before you keep putting the Citation tag. I don't mean to offend, but you might want to try actually reading next time? -Ramrod? 00:41, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Check the first reference note, it was announced two days before the airplane incident that the episode would not be on the fix. My bad for not noticing the date on the [as] board post. --Carterhawk 21:23, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm completely blown away that they aren't sent over the internet.

It's called Digital Betacam and it's not what you know of as "videotape". --NeoVampTrunks 23:46, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Icarus or Apollo?

[edit]

On this page it says that the winged Led Zeppelin logo Brock got a tattoo of is really apollo but that it gets mistaken for Icarus, but on Led Zeppelins wiki page it says that it's Icarus and sometimes gets mistaken for Apollo. Someone want to clear this up?

I'm 99% certain the painting depicts Apollo, falling from the sky as evening comes (he is the sun god). Why rimmer gave him wings, who knows. Now as to whether the logo is Icarus or Apollo is up for debate. All sources I can find on google say the logo is "based" on the painting, meaning it isnt an exact copy. the last comment here says that it is icarus according to zep. Like so much of wikipedia's triva sections, there is no source or reference to say anything definitive. --Carterhawk 10:05, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The image of Icarus makes sense for 'Zep because their music seemed to embody the concept of the feeling that Icarus had while soaring just the moment before his wings melted. Plus, if Brock says it's Icarus, it should read Icarus on this page. --NeoVampTrunks 23:58, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, regardless of what Zep put on their logo, Brock wanted icarus, and thats what he is getting --Carterhawk 03:41, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just of note (from the Led Zeppelin article):
"In 1974, Led Zeppelin launched their own record label, Swan Song, named after one of only five Led Zeppelin songs which the band never released commercially (Page later re-worked the song with his band, The Firm, and it appears as "Midnight Moonlight" on their first album). The record label's logo, based on a painting called Evening: Fall of Day (1869) by William Rimmer, features a picture of Icarus (although it is often misinterpreted as a picture of Apollo, Lucifer, Satan, or Daedelus). The logo can be found on much Led Zeppelin memorabilia, especially t-shirts. In addition to using Swan Song as a vehicle to promote their own albums, the band expanded the label's roster, signing artists such as Bad Company, Pretty Things, Maggie Bell, Detective, Dave Edmunds, Midnight Flyer, Sad Café and Wildlife. The label would be successful while Led Zeppelin existed, but folded less than three years after they disbanded."

Actually this is contradicted in the William Rimmer article:
"Rimmer's most famous work, though not normally associated with him, is Evening: Fall of Day. This paint-on-canvas portrays Apollo rising from the earth during a sunset, and a modified version was used by Swan Song Records, the recording label founded by Led Zeppelin, in their label art. It is often mistaken to be a picture of Icarus, Lucifer, Satan, or Daedelus."

Dudes, wikipedia should never be a primary or secondary source for anything else on wikipedia! --Carterhawk 07:05, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I was just noting it, not using it as a source. -th1rt3en 14:49, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Again, if Brock says Icarus, then in the context of this article, he is Icarus. NeoVampTrunks 18:05, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

John Hodgman reference

[edit]

I felt 21's use of "Stand by..." before he farted to be a reference to live audio performance of John Hodgman reading his 700 hobo names aloud where he would take incredibly short break and say "stand by" before continuing. Also the way I heard of Hodgman's 700 Hobo names was through Jackson Publick's livejournal so since he was one of the writers in the episode I'm pretty sure he was aware of the reference.

Soveriegn

[edit]

I think the Soveriegn is David Bowie considering he had a wedding to go to and this is the first time David Bowie is even seen in the series. The only occasion hes really been mentioned was in the Incredible Mr. Brisby. Gwag 15:42 EST 12 October, 2006

But not the first Bowie reference in the series. Certainly in Ghosts of the Sargasso there are enough of them. Especially since an entire chunk of dialogue is taken directly from Bowie lyrics. And of course Showdown at Cremation Creek (Part II) proves your thought to be correct. TheLoverly 06:26, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Land O'Lakes?

[edit]

Sergeant Hatred's girlfriend, Princess Tiny Feet, has GOT to be based on the Land O'Lakes character. yes?--Deglr6328 11:50, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting Trivia tidbit

[edit]

I just noticed this. Not a regular wikipedia editor, so I don't know if it merits front page status. But, the "old-school" costume Hank is wearing is the costume design from the pilot, "The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay".
